The main goal is to derive an early warning of the climate risk affecting the health status of a bee colony in terms of honey production, estimating its degree and its potential impact at the local level. Our results will include the production of forecasting maps for climate risk and for its impact on biodiversity and ecosystems services. This will offer a novel perspective on how honeybees’ ecosystems services are affected (or even jeopardized) by the volatility of climate change and will lead to new tools for targeting policies or encouraging best practices for beekeepers, reducing the adverse impact of climate changes and promoting resilient apiculture.
